The Police Department is organized into two divisions,
The Operations Division and The Administrative Support Services Division. The Operations Division is comprised of the Uniform Patrol Section and the Criminal Investigations Section. The Administrative Support and Services Division is comprised of the Records Section, the Communications Section and the Community Services Section

The Uniform Patrol Section is the most visible with the men and women of this section charged with the major part of the departments effort to preserve peace, protect life and property and prevent crime.

Officers assigned to this section enforce laws related to vehicular and pedestrian traffic, vehicle crash investigations, traffic enforcement, activities, and Investigate criminal complaints.

A highly trained Canine Officer and his equally trained Police Dog make up the department's K-9 unit. With the K-9 presence, many persons who may have fled, or offered resistance can be taken into custody without incident. The dog's tracking ability is used for locating missing persons and fleeing criminals. The K-9's ability to locate narcotics greatly assists in illegal drug investigations.

The goal of personnel working as School Resource Officers is to
foster a positive image of Police Officers among young people, provide education and counseling to students on law enforcement topics, and provide security and maintain peace on school property.
