A highly trained Canine Officer and his equally trained Police
Dog make up the department's K-9 unit. With the K-9 presence,
many persons who may have fled, or offered resistance can be taken
into custody without incident. The dog's tracking ability is used
for locating missing persons and fleeing criminals. The K-9's
ability to locate narcotics greatly assists in illegal drug
